Farka Smart Socks, even though it contains other functionalities, its primary aim is to serve as an alarm reminder. Farka Smart Socks works with an application which a person can set an alarm, when is it time set for the alarm, the socks will start with a low vibration for the person to wake up. The vibration increase with time for the person if they din’t wake up which can reach to an unbearable vibration. This will continue until the person wakes up, get on their feet and takes at least 12 steps which is the minimum before it stops. Socks are cotton made that a person can wear and removed at their own convenience, but FSS will be made up of a smart fabric cotton made which can detect if the are worn, not worn or removed which make it possible for it to sound on the app when the socks are vibrating and the person removed them without taking the steps, leaving the person with almost no choice but to do the right thing. smart socks would have other functionality of serving as a reminder where by when the reminder is due, it will make a low vibration which can be stopped with a few foot tap and a notification from the application in forming the person on what the reminder was about, being able to display a person working distance, their calories burnt and measure weight.
The FSS Technology
The FSS will be made form fine smart fabric that are water resistance at the chips location area. Embedded with vibration chips in the foot and ankle area of the socks for waking up and reminding purpose, pressure sensors in the foot area to take count of the steps, bluetooth chip that connects the sock chips with the app and an elastic flexible battery that charge up the chips.
The FSS App
Farka Smart socks will be build with an application that enables it’s users to set their alarm time or reminder on and the number of steps that will turn off the alarm when it start. The app will also be able to notify users about the distance the covered for the activities, inform the user about the number of calories burnt and their weight when put in exercise mode. This app can be further used to control more than one pair of socks example in a scenario of parent and children were by the parents would be in control of the socks. But then the socks can only be connected to one app.
Farka Smart Socks
Looks normal but it is far more than the common socks because the FSS socks, apart from it’s availability of being in different designs, it is also the key part of the development, which contains the technologies for the invention. It is made up of smart fabric transmitting the vibration to whole part of the socks. The pressure sensors are planted at the foot part of the socks while the socks cuff contains the battery, bluetooth and a sensors that triggers sound when the socks is being removed when vibrating.
Why the Smart Socks?
One of the most difficult tasks for people right from time was how they start their day, which is by waking up at the right time to work timely with their schedule. A solution was developed from a simple survey that aid the FSSS to serve primarily as a wearable tech alarm reminder that can be very simple, reliable, convincing and even contain more great functionalities than other alarm reminders or smart socks. Because not stopping there, FSS would be able to serve as a tool for tracking how far a person have being walking, be able to dictated calories when exercising and also be able to allow users to keep tack of their weight by using the socks to measure it.
